More Entertainment, Gaming Apps Coming To iPhone 4G

With Monday’s announcement of the iPhone 4G completed, many are focusing on well-know entertainment and gaming applications slated for this summer’s release in the Apple App Store.Netflix, FarmVille and Guitar Hero will be coming to the iPhone through the App Store, Apple said. Netflix already has an app for the iPad, but the iPhone version will allow viewers to watch streaming video content instantly. The app will also be free for those who already have a Netflix account. Jobs has called it the “…. platform’s biggest advance since the original model’s intro back in 2007″, which is a big bold claim to make. It’s also patently false! To claim that the iPhone 4 is the biggest advance in the iPhone since it was launched tells you something about either Apple or Jobs: either the iPhone has hardly evolved since its launch, or that Jobs might be trying to spin things a little! In short, it’s a good improvement over last year’s model, but there’s no killer must-have feature, and it brings the iPhone in line with some of the features of Android phones from the likes of HTC and Sony Ericsson. Called the iPhone 4, the new look handset has a much-improved 5-megapixel camera with a built-in flash that can also shoot and edit high-definition video.It also has an added front facing camera, allowing video calling to other iPhone’s over wi-fi with a feature called Face Time.Flatter and a quarter thinner than previous versions, it shares the same brushed metal look as the recently released iPad.
